Sometimes we forget how important it is to make sure that the individual, company or contractor working on your home or business is fully qualified to be doing a job for you. Making certain up front that whoever you’ve hired is both qualified and insured can save not only time and money, but in many cases legal and liability issues as well.
It is quite easy to check the accreditation of someone you are thinking of using for a job. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (FLDBPR) has a convenient Search Portal where you can verify the license of the company in question.
Always ask before hiring anyone. Get a license # and proof of insurance. This can save untold complications later.
